
Fiona Cooper is the European Tax Director for Starwood Capital Group, a private investment firm with a core focus on global real estate. Starwood Capital Group has raised more than $31 billion of equity capital since its inception in 1991, and currently manages over $44 billion in assets. Fiona is responsible for transaction structuring for all European acquisitions.
Prior to joining Starwood, Fiona was the global Director of Tax for Apax Partners, one of the world’s leading private equity investment firms operating across the Americas, Europe and Asia. Funds under the advice of Apax total more than €25 billion. Fiona was responsible for all the tax affairs of the Apax group globally with a particular focus on deal and fund structuring.
Prior to joining Apax Partners, Fiona worked at Deloitte in the M&A and corporate tax departments.
Fiona is a member of the BVCA Tax Committee. Fiona holds a BA Hons in Business Studies from the University of Westminster and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales
