Rajaa Mekouar-Schneider Rajaa is a seasoned Private Equity investor with a 20-year experience in Consumer- and Food-related sectors across Europe and emerging markets, where she developed longterm trust-based relaConships and networks, in parCcular with Family Offices and entrepreneurs. Since 2016 she has been a senior team member of Kharis Capital, a long-term direct investment firm backed my families and dedicated to Consumer markets across Europe. Kharis was founded in 2015 and completed 5 investments (€300m equity) across 3 verCcals, including Quick Service Restaurants, Digitech and Organic Branded Food (www.khariscapital.com). Before joining Kharis, Rajaa was the founding partner of Maera Capital, an advisory and coinvestment bouCque dedicated to private investors and entrepreneurs with a focus on consumer and agribusiness sectors. There, she sourced, executed and monitored a number of direct investments on behalf of internaConal family offices and businesses. Amongst her achievements with Maera Capital is the foundaCon and build up of Terra Magna Capital, an vehicle dedicated to LaCn American farm investments (row crops across 110,000 hectares in 4 countries), in partnership with a leading Investment Office. She also led a thorough review of a farming operaCon on behalf of Louis Dreyfus CommodiFes ($100m+ AuM) and was acCve in Africa on behalf of a leading privately owned sovereign group. Rajaa´s Private Equity career started at Draper Fischer Jurvetson, the leading US Venture firm before she joined Lazard European Private Equity Partners, of which she was a founding principal. She became later an Associate Director at Change Capital Partners (www.changecapitalpartners.com), an LBO mid-cap fund originally backed by the Halley family, and focused on European mid cap investments in the consumer/FMCG/retail. Rajaa´s first work experience was at Procter & Gamble where she led brand management projects in the Household Products division in France, the UK and Germany during 4 years. She is a graduate of HEC Grande Ecole in France and holds an INSEAD MBA. She speaks English, French, German, Spanish and Arabic. Rajaa was born and raised in Morocco and holds BriCsh ciCzenship, having spent most of her career to date in London before moving to Luxembourg at the end of 2015. Rajaa is the elected Chairwoman (2018-2020) of Luxembourg Private Equity AssociaFon (www.lpea.lu), where she iniCated the LPEA Insights series (www.lpeainsights.lu). She is a regular speaker at leading PE conferences and events in Europe and an experienced trainer and coach for young talents keen to enter the PE industry.
