Onno Bouwmeister, Vistra Group

Onno Bouwmeister Onno was appointed Group Managing Director for Vistra’s Alternative Investments and member of the Executive Committee in 2016, previously Orangefield Luxembourg’s Managing Director for three years. He joined Orangefield in 2008 progressing to Commercial Manager after four years and ultimately to Managing Director in 2013. After graduation he joined the international law firm, Kneppelhout and Korthals, where he specialised in corporate law, he started his career with Rabobank International in 2003 where he worked on their securities desk. Onno holds an LLM in corporate law from the University of Utrecht and is a Dutch Bar Association qualified lawyer.

The report compares behaviours in a number of different European countries and identifies five pillars upon which a liquid open-end fund should be built. This clear framework sets out investor rights together with manager responsibilities and aims to create realistic expectations for open-end fund investments and to avoid conflict between the parties involved.

This study has been updated in 2016 to reflect latest guidance for exceptional circumstances such as Brexit. Local best practices section has been also extended with highlights from Switzerland and France.
