Nichola Marshall, Sparinvest

Nichola Marshall Nichola Marshall (M.A. Oxon) Head of Sparinvest Responsible Investment Committee has been at Sparinvest since January 2007 and was appointed Head of Responsible Investment in September 2014. Nichola first entered the financial services industry in 1987 as a graduate recruit to the large UK unit trust provider Save & Prosper Group, a subsidiary of Flemings Merchant Bank. Nichola’s 19 years with the Flemings group of companies included periods as an investment writer, product manager, PR Manager, pan-Asian marketing (secondment to Jardine Fleming, Hong Kong), followed by three years of managing pan-European Marketing in Luxembourg. After a seven year career break for child-rearing purposes, Nichola resumed her financial services career in 2001 with a different perspective. As a parent, Nichola was attracted by the long-term investment philosophy of Sparinvest and has always taken a close interest in the development of the Group’s Responsible Investment Policy. As Head of Sparinvest’s Responsible Investment Committee and part of the Asset Management team, Nichola works in conjunction with Portfolio Managers and Group Management to continue to develop and communicate responsible investment at Sparinvest and within the industry.
