Stephen Swanson

Stephen Swanson is an Assistant General Counsel for Invesco, where he serves as general counsel for Invesco’s New York-based private alternative funds business, including the Private Credit, Private Equity, Venture Capital funds businesses. Prior to joining Invesco, Stephen was the Head of Alternative Investments for the legal team at AllianceBernstein, where he led the legal team responsible for the development and support of AB’s private alternative investment vehicles. Stephen has also served as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of the Abu Dhabi Investment Company, one of the oldest Abu Dhabi government-owned financial services companies specializing in private investments, and as the global head of the Alternative Investments and Structured Products legal team for Citigroup’s Global Wealth Management division. Stephen also has 12 years’ experience in corporate and securities transactions with leading global law firms Clifford Chance, Jones Day and Morgan, Lewis & Bockius.  He holds a J.D. from the Duke University School of Law and a B.A. from Cornell University.
